Dr. Gulen Ozkula
Dr. Gulen Ozkula is presently serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the esteemed University of Wisconsin in the United States. She obtained her honorable degree in Civil Engineering from Manisa Celal Bayar University in Turkey, complemented by an associate degree in Business Administration from Eskisehir Anadolu University in 2007. Following her graduation, Dr. Ozkula relocated to the United States to participate in the Intensive Business English program at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN). In 2011, she earned her M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Subsequently, Dr. Ozkula pursued her Ph.D. in Structural Engineering with a focus on steel structures at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), completing her doctoral studies in 2017. Following the completion of her Ph.D., she continued her research as a postdoctoral researcher at UCSD, specializing in the investigation of steel deep beam-columns under seismic loading. In 2019, she joined the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan as a visiting professor. Moreover, Dr. Ozkula recently completed her Executive MBA degree at Istanbul University, further enriching her expertise in business management and strategic leadership. Throughout her career, Dr. Ozkula has served as a mentor to numerous graduate and undergraduate students, contributing to their academic and professional growth.
